　　The colorimetric determination of phenol in water is based on the reaction of phenol with 4-aminoantipyrine in potassium (III) ferrocyanide buffer solution to form a red antipyrine complex. The absorbance intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of phenol in the sample, measured at 525nm.
